Stefanie Thomas Gilbert-Roberts
A multi-hyphenate creative, for 10 years Stefanie danced with the National Dance Theatre company of Jamaica, during this time, touring throughout cities in the USA, and across the Caribbean and Central America. She also choreographed “Analogue X” for the company’s 47th Season of Dance. Stefanie has been Artistic Director and producer of two international dance, music and art shows, dubbed “Cultural Fusion” bringing together creatives from across the globe for performances in Kingston, Jamaica.
Stefanie is a former visiting artist with French dance company CIE James CARLES participating in the Black Dance Project for one season, touring cities in France including Toulouse and Nantes.
She is founder and former creative editor of the award-winning blog and online magazine Cultural Voice, and her digitised artwork has been featured on the covers of two books of poetry, Kumina Queen (Peepal Tree Press, 2016), and Zion Roses (Peepal Tree Press, 2021), and the academic publication, Caribbean Integration, Uncertainty in a time of Global Fragmentation (UWI press, 2022).
