Thiago Liberdade
Thiago Liberdade (Rio de Janeiro, 1983) is a designer, visual artist and cultural producer. He has a master’s degree in Image Design and a degree in Communication Design from Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto. He started his career in the Performing Arts, still in Brazil, integrating the Magiluth Group for 10 years. Worked as manager of the Recife Design Center in 2011. Co-founded in 2012 the TREMA! Festival and TREMA! Magazine, of which he signs the visual identity and communication of the projects. He currently works in Porto as a photographer, designer and researcher with a grant from FCT and ID+ with the research project “Imagens Adocicadas: semiotic of sugar”. He joined the XXATENEUXXI project team, as executive producer, in 2020 and has been developing part of the graphic image for shows, residencies and exhibitions of CRL/Central Elétrica, as well as for the last two editions of Volts Festival (2021 and 2022).
Within the MANIFEST Artistic Journey, Thiago will work in tandem with Inês Costa.
The past is still a continuum that operates in the present and designs the future. As long as history continues to subordinate people and narratives nothing moves.
